Sanctioning is a stamp of approval that parent organizations use to indicate a certain set of standards has been met.
MSEDA is currently the only regional eventing and dressage association that sanctions local competitions. For a show to be MSEDA Sanctioned the Organizer must make application to the Sanctioning Committee and they will insure that the standards are met. These standards require that licensed officials be used, that adequate medical and veterinary support is available, that the courses are safe and fair for the participants and that the competition is run in accordance with the US Equestrian Federation Rules and Guidelines for Eventing and Dressage. In addition the organizers are required to have proof of insurance.

Once the application for Sanctioning is received and approved, MSEDA offers space for show bills or prizelists in the monthly newsletter, a listing with contact information on the Sanctioned Calendar which is available is on the website as well as published each month in the newsletter. Competition results are published when reported by the Organizer and competitors are awarded points that accumulate towards an extensive Year End Awards Program.
